“Brea Fournier is a charmingly fresh musical voice whose bubbly attitude and go-girl demeanor underscore a whimsical maturity and intoxicatingly vivacious sing-along magnetism," says Grammy nominee Shane Adams.
Born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, Brea Fournier's songs are alive with the energy of New York City's twentysomethings. A classically trained former musical theatre kid, Fournier's music is born of the strong melodies and camp of this background, crossbred with a punk-rock aesthetic she picked up in her angsty teenage years. Fournier's songs are unapologetically feminine, upbeat, and deeply emotional, drawing influence from artists and bands like Paramore and Green Day, as well as 80s acts like Cyndi Lauper, the GoGos, and Blondie.
In February 2022, Fournier released the single "Dream Ballet," inspired by the hypnotic dance sequences in golden-age Broadway musicals, such as “Oklahoma”. The lyrics reflect the simultaneous feelings of pain and passion that come with being an artist, a love for performance, and a nostalgia of childhood memories. In 2021, Fournier started the band project Brea Fournier & the Dream Ballet, and the group performs regularly around New York City. Fournier is a student at the renowned Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU Tisch and will graduate in May 2022.
